2015 Races!

2014 was an awesome race year for me.  I started running in April of 2014, and conquered two 10Ks (Super Bowl Sunday 10K and the Manhattan Beach 10k) and three half marathons (Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon, NYCRUNS Narrows Half Marathon, and the Nike Women's Half Marathon).  I developed an IT band injury right before the Nike Women's Half Marathon, which really hurt my overall time.  I did as the doctor ordered and rested my leg for almost 6 weeks.

With a lot of yoga, a lot of of not running, and even more patience, I'm finally training again.  I have been running with my regular run groups here in Los Angeles, as well as getting in strength training with Nike Training Club in Santa Monica and much needed stretching with yoga.

I started planning my races for 2015 and here's what I have on my plate so far:
  • February 1, 2015: Surf City - Made a last minute decision to join this race.  This is my first Surf City race!  I'm excited as I hear it's a gorgeous course and quite flat.
  • March 15, 2015: LA Marathon - My first full marathon, ever.  I'm scared and excited, but mostly scared!
  • May 17, 2015: The Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon - This will be my second half marathon outside of the states.  I have a soft place in my heart for Sydney and can't wait to run this gorgeous city!
  • July 26, 2015:  The San Francisco Marathon - Battling the hills of San Francisco again to get the California Dreamin' Race Cup!

I'm hoping to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon again, as well as the Chicago Marathon (but let's see how I handle the LA Marathon first!).  I also want to run the OC Half Marathon and the Long Beach Half Marathon for the Beach Cities Challenge Medal.  What races do you have planned for next year?
