Guilt-Free Turmeric Turkey "Tacos"

As a So Cal native, I am always craving tacos. This recipe is full of antioxidants, lean protein, and lots of good fats! I usually eat these the night before a long run so I can protein load and eat as many as I want without feeling guilty! Here's what you'll need:

1 tbsp coconut oil
1/2 cup chopped yellow onion
1 lb ground turkey
2-3 cloves garlic (I like mine garlicky!  Reduce if garlic sensitive.)
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup chicken bone broth (I used this one from Milk & Eggs)
Lettuce leaves or jicama (To wrap your taco!)

Topping Suggestions
Red onion
Plain Greek Yogurt
Hot Sauce

Heat coconut oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes. Add turkey and garlic, season with salt and pepper, and cook, tossing and breaking up turkey occasionally, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add turmeric, chili powder, cumin, paprika, tomato sauce and chicken bone broth. Reduce to a simmer and cook about 5 minutes until sauce has reduced. Serve mixture wrapped in lettuce leaves or jicama with desired toppings.  I used tomatoes, red onion, avocado, greek yogurt, cilantro and Tapatio!  Adam added green peppers to his.

I got all of my ingredients from MilkAndEggs.Com.  It's an awesome grocery delivery service that makes it super easy to order farm to table groceries.  Often times, it's cheaper than the grocery store.  Check out if they are in your region, and you can use code MELLIECAY at checkout to get $15 off $35 or more.
